Hi Dale !

Yes - wheels are fine ! Would be great to have you along !
Over the years, we've had everything from ultralights to Bonanzas,
and a few Rebels too !! :-) Everybody welcome !!!

Will post more details soon to the Rebel Ramble email list
here at dcsol .... We will be looking for registrations early
this time, to make planning easier. At the moment, dates are:
July 6th to July 20th, 2007, with the option of flying into Oshkosh
at the end of the Ramble. We will be going to the West Coast -
any excuse to get to Chilliwack for the PIES ! ;-) :-)

The idea is to get as many projects as possible finished and
flying by < March next year > - it will likely take from March to June
to get the time flown off & paperwork done to allow people to
fly along ! Rambling should be a good incentive to -
"Get it Flying !!" :-)

We are thinking that this will be the last Ramble - it's been
15 great years. It takes a lot of organizing, and we cancelled
this year because we had only 1 "indefinite maybe" to fly along.
(We classify Ramblers as "Registered", "Definite", or "Maybe",
for mailing purposes ... )

So far we have 2 <verbal> "Definites" ... an 85 hp Champ,
and a Rebel ... Not a bad start, considering we haven't sent
the notices out, nor set up to track the $5 registrations yet.... :-)
Start planning your holidays for next year, and come along on
"The trip of a lifetime !" :-)

Have you considered a shorter Ramble - say a week or even a long
weekend. In principle, I would be interested, but I'm not sufficient of
a masochist to contemplate spending 40 hours in a 100 knot airplane in
two weeks. Plus, there are those of us who still have to work to
support our habit.

Back when we started, the Rambles were only long weekends -
and many wanted more ! This is the last one, and it is a LOT
shorter than Ramble 2003, when we went to BOTH coasts. :-)
(Left at end of June, finished at home in mid- September ! )

Seriously, many people have joined in for just a day or 2,
or 3 ... and headed home. It depends on the time they can spare.
Would love to have you along, even if only to WinterPeg, or
thereabouts ... The gang at Lyncrest throw quite a party ! :-)

Work !! Now there's a 4 letter word !! ;-)

For those of you never having flown any long cross-country trips, it is a
great learning experience to fly with a group, and someone with Bob P's
experience. I still remember our first Ramble going east across the
mountains, and it gave me the confidence I needed for future trips. It can
be a little intimidating the first time you get 1000 fpm going down with
full throttle, but when your leader says it is OK, well, you just don't
worry about then, especially when there is still a few thousand to go before
terra firma. Pretty soon you learn to take better advantage of the 1500 fpm
up drafts, and you start to feel a lot better. And it was Bob that first
took me up to 10,000 plus, and it's a good way to really make time with a
tailwind. And he sure knows his way around all those different airports
along the way.

Anyway, if you get a chance to fly with Bob P, do it, especially if he says
it is his last one, although I kind of doubt that.

Blush !!!

Thanks for the kind words Walter !! Gee, I don't remember all
those exciting moments - but I sure did enjoy boooogie-ing along
home above 10,000 ft. with a 20++ Knot tailwind - we went from central
Idaho (Sandpoint) to Minnesota in 2 good days !! :-) Yahooooooo !

We do our best to keep the 'excitement' level to easily bearable,
with safety as the top priority, followed closely by HAVING FUN !! :-)
Some days we only fly a couple of hours, and there's camping (or a
motel) & a party at the end of each day - the whole object is to
ENJOY THE TRIP. Sometimes, we don't even get to the destination,
but we meet interesting people, see new places, and have fun !
