[rebel-builders] Walter and Al's great adventure...to Temagami

Post by Wayne G. O'Shea » Sun Feb 19, 2012 11:07 am

Congrats Grandpa!

Thought it was Drew that had to hit the salt mines!! :O)

Home for a couple of days...then daughter to University in Ottawa over the
weekend and then back North for as much of September as the weather will
allow for Leah..........then back to the "grind" of building Murphy Metal
after that!

Thanks for the write-up and pics, Wayne. You definitely have a great
place,
and can see why you want to spend as much time there as possible. And
yeah,
I gained a few pounds too, thanks to Al's son, the chef.

Yup, your floatplane base had the cheapest fuel (in Canada that is). Next
best was Lethbridge, Alberta at 1.35/litre. Thunder Bay, and Kenora,
Ontario
were the worst at 1.68. Will be getting some whopping Mastercard bills in
the near future...

It was a real fun adventure for me, and got to see a lot of new pretty
country side. While I got held up a couple times by weather, it really
wasn't too bad, and those floats are also a great security blanket,
knowing
that you can put down on some lake for a while if you have to.

I've been busy since I've got back, too, as the day after I got home, I
became a granddad. Nice end to a long 3 week vacation... Then on Monday
it's
back to the salt mines..., so I can pay for all that Avgas...

Walter
