Hydraulic system prices

Post by Jesse Jenks » Sun Feb 19, 2012 11:04 am

I got a quote from Nancy for the pump and selector. I can grit my teeth and
plunk down $300. for the pump, but $320. for the selector? Thats one pricey
little valve. Does that sound like the correct price, and if so is there an
off-the-shelf alternative?
Thanks
Jesse

Nancy was kind enough to give me the part# for the gear selector. It's made
by Barksdale part #9021-m. Available from FLW Inc. for $120. USD.
800-576-6308. The only thing I'm not sure of is that there are three
versions of the valve; open center, closed center, and 4-way where all ports
are blocked in the center position. I believe that is the one I want, but
can someone confirm that? $200. is quite a savings I'd say, now I'm trying
to get the part # for the pump. I would also like to use a flush panel mount
pressure gauge. Can someone give me the pressure range of the standard gauge
so I can try to find an equivalent panel mount one?
Getting this stuff from another source will only pay off if MAM will deduct
their quoted prices from my amphib kit when that time comes, so we'll have
to wait and see on that, but at least I don't have to lay out as much cash
right now.
Thanks
Jesse
