Hi Mike I have a brand new prince prop on my plane and I'm very pleased
with it. Mines the p-tip model I think it's quieter than my old warp drive
prop but maybe it's the engine. Lonnie prince will recommend the correct
prop for your application when you call him.

Somewhere along the way I heard something about rain and wood props don't mix. Is this a problem with a Prince?

I've heard that too but I flew my Murphy Renegade Spirit for almost an hour
through a heavy downpour once and detected no problems with my wooden prop.
(I got pretty wet and didn't appreciate 60 MPH raindrops in the face.) I
don't know about composite props but I would suspect that they would be fine
in rain. I recently talked to a guy at the airport that used some kind of
special leading edge tape on his prop that is supposed to prevent rock
damage. He said it worked good until he flew in rain. Took the tape right
off but the prop was fine.

I hope not! I put it on a floatplane so it's sure to get some water spray.
I did pay extra for leading edge protection but I can't tell that it's
there by looking at it. My old prop was a warp drive with stainless steel
leading edges I flew on floats with it and several times in rain and even
freezing rain without ever detecting any wear.

Carefull!
He initially was going to sell me a 47" prop for my Rebel but when I got it
it was 45" and of course too fine. I now have to wait until I take the
plane down for painting next year and then spend the money to return it for
repitching. Other than that, I am pleased with my prop.

Mines a 46" It seems to be just about prefect with the floats so to fine
whe I go to wheels. But I'm not usually in that much of a hurry and it's
really neat to climb almost straight up.

If I had to move to floats at this time, the prop would most likely be
perfect.

Just last week I saw a Prince prop after it was flown in a rain storm and
the leading edge towards the tips (about 8") was badly damaged. This prop
has the composite leading edge protection.
