The Murphy Builders Site

Finally I got to fly my plane with the new engine for the first time last
night. What I thought was going to be a couple week job turned into a 2
month long ordeal. The transport Canada inspector wasn't the most
co-operative guy I've dealt with but the paperwork is done and the snags
are signed off. Don't forget to placard your water rudder handle. I have a
new gross weight of 1945lbs which according to the inspector is the maximum
that murphy amphibs can carry. I did a few splash and goes in lake huron
yesterday evening even in the long swells with no wind the plane got off
the water really fast. climb with one aboard and full fuel was just over
1000fpm cruising at 2500rpm gives about 110mph. All my temps and pressures
stayed well in the green. It seems that the prince prop is a little quieter
than my old warp drive. I'm one very happy camper right now. I uploaded a
couple pictures of my plane too.
