SubieLyc

I hadn't been to the SubieLyc web site in a while, but I'm now less than 2
years from ordering my stuff, so I'm trying to get my budget in working
order. I am looking now at the different engine options, and comparing the
Rebel and the Elite. I was wondering if the EJ24 could/should be used on
the Elite. It's within the 315 lb(295 lbs) limit with the firewall back,
but it's rated at 190hp, and the Elite has a 116-180hp range.

I was also wondering what the fuel consumption rates of the EJ22 & EJ24 are.

One other question about the horse power ratings of these engines... it
says the ratings are caculated with an 8% loss for the reduction drive, but
are those RPM's attainable with an appropriate propeller for that power
range? I'm just wondering if you throw a 76"/58degree prop on the EJ24,
are you still going to get 5500rpm out of that motor. Because at 5000rpm
it's rated at 176hp which brings it back into the recommended range.

Thanks, Mike
Rebel/Elite s/n ???

Mike, I'll reply off line with your questions. But the 2.5 will be the
thing to look at when you need your engine.
