[rebel-builders]Flaperon settings

Steve...hard to diagnose from afar...but my airplane turns left if
unattended. To take the load off the stick I installed a trim tab on the
right flaperon. Actually a piece of my first moulded windshield that had the
proper curve in it and didn't have the sharp edge to slice someones head
open. Works like a charm.

With ailerons you can cheat on the adjustment a bit to help keep the wings
level. With the full flaperons U can adjust the push pulls to your hearts
content...it will do nothing but move the stick off center. The trim tab (or
wing being moved up/down) will help you out.

Hi Clay
Got the bugs out of my tailwheel. Put an eye bolt upside down thru the
cable clevis and ran my chains back from there which gave me more travel
to
kick out the steering lock. Have 6 hrs on now with 320 cht and 1350 egt
170
oil temps with 80 mineral oil. Air temps not really bad now 20-25 cel. Had
trouble with the flaperons not extending evenly but know what my problem
is.
Flys level and hands off with a little reflex but as soon as u go past 0
flap, it loads up the control stick with left wing down. ( Wayne if ur
reading this, please join in). Have 20* of flaperon which slows nicely.
Lost
Alvins message and was going to respond to it. Have the Prince prop also
and will be having a few words with Lonnie. Have the 74/45 p tip and have
a
105 mph cruise at 2400 but will over rev if i get above 65 in the climb.
Need more pitch. He suggests the 74/45 for the 150 hp and the 74/47 for
the
160. Think the 47 would fine for the 150 . Alvin is obviously too fine
and
may benifet from what i have. Can't believe the take off with 0 flap and
the fine pitch prop.
Take care

[rebel-builders]Flaperon settings

Thanks Wayne
I did everything I could think of and now have hands off and I mean it- no
hands but as soon as I put any flaperon in it loads up the control stick and
wants to drop the right wing. I am analysing what I have done and what the
manuel says and there is two things I have thought of. One is that the rear
bellcrank shud be at 90* to the center of the top of the pushrods not the
lower push pull tube. I do not have the exact same angle on both of the
push rods at the top. I am going to keep on flying off the remaining 17 hrs
to get rid off my restrictions and then off to Osh. I plan to get some new
parts and re calibrate the whole assembly again. I will be checking the
flaperon travel with a digital protractor to see how much of a difference
the disimitry is between the sides. Getting 105+ mph on GPS at 2400 with
prince 74/45, 98mph at 2300. Want a 47"
Thanks again
