Skins are all 6061-T6
AFAIK the only thing that isn't is the machined fittings like
bellcranks, control horns, etc.

If going "upgrade" I would think 2024 t3 would be an upgrade
(essentially what all other airplanes are made of), stronger, less
prone to denting like the 6061. Less corrosion resistant but that is
mostly bunk argument not to use it (my opinion). Of course more $$ -
main reason the use of 6061.

Yes although I suspect most of the skins would still be 0.020 minimum
even if they were 2023 so there is not necessarilly a significant weight
penalty for using 6061. The next question that comes to mind is why one
wants to upgrade the part. Some fellows have noted where the rivets
shear in an accident and they are often places where some smoking is
seen on high time Rebels. Just adding extra rivets may lead to other
issues like tearing along the rivet line so upping the panel thickness
or material might indeed be reasonable thing to do such as on the side
of the cage. I remember wondering about corrosion of 6061 when mated to
2024. Probably not a concern but I didn't really want to stock 2024 as
well as 6061 anyway. Corrosion sure seems to be a maintanance concern on
older Cessna's so I like 6061. I refuse to use conversion coatings for
environmental reasons so I like the fact that 6061 doesn't need
conversion coatings (in my opinion). I used MAM's parts for FUS 24 and
25 although I did bump FUS 11 and 26 to 0.025. If doing it again I'd do
the same except I'd bump FUS 26 to 0.032.
