[rebel-builders] moose seaplane door

I would assume that the bubble would not allow you to open the door as far
as a non-bubble window would since the door will be hinged only a couple of
inches below the bottom of the wing. But it may still be acceptable for
getting in and out. You will want to restrict the door opening so you
aren't constantly banging the window into the wing.

Hi all,
I have done a seaplane door mod on my Moose Fus. My question is about the
bubble windows for the door that Murphy offers....Is there any clearance
issues under the wing when the window and/or door is in the open position?
I have an order ready to go at MAM and was thinking about adding them to
my order.
thanks for the response.

Isn't the Murphy "bubble" only about 1/2 to 3/4 inch. Looking at
Scott's pictures it doesn't look like the bubble makes much
difference.

Really? If that's the case, why bother? I'm curious. With the curve, is
it still optically correct? I know some motorcycle windshields aren't.

[rebel-builders] moose seaplane door

When I first saw the bubble window, what... 4 years ago now, Colleen
explained to me that it made the window much more rigid, the flat windows
apparently flex a bit. It's not a bubble like the windows designed for
photographing. I seem to remember that it added 3" width at the shoulder,
but I'm not positive about that.
