912-coolant problem

At spring inspection coolant level was abnormally low, once replenished, coolant backs up into overflow bottle. Even had cap on overflow blow off in flight.
No noticeable leaks and automotive type pressure tester does not fit cap???
Water temp does look ok, cylinder head temp does rise with loss of coolant when coolant leaks out of overflow bottle.
Any suggestions???
