[rebel-builders] Trip West & East ---was 1800 amphibs
Posted: Sun Feb 19, 2012 10:44 am
Hi Walter !
A few hangups at the moment, but the plan is to leave here July 7th,
arrive Chilliwack about July 15th, then head back here for July 21st,
to get to Oshkosh for the 22nd or 23rd ...
Will keep everyone updated as soon as we know for sure ... :-) :-)
Looks like that schedule will work well for you to fly back with us.

Yep, as far as I'm concerned. Don't think will make the 18th, as I won't be
leaving Nimpo until the morning of the 16th. Will meet up with Al P. that
evening or the next day, depending on the weather, and head east.
How about Bob P. and the Ramble? You guys still heading out west? Bruce G.
and I, and whoever else is along, want to spend the week after Arlington
flying around BC and to Nimpo Lake. There are a lot of great places here to
visit both on floats and wheels and would be happy to show people around.

Great! Is the "big trip" still going ahead as expected with a July ~18th
arrival date?

ManagedJust got back again from my hangar, and I think the job is finished.
Hadto get everything together again properly, and to my surprise no leaks.
Wayneto get all the air out again and tested it best I can, but it looks good.
It was brutal, though, and sure don't want to have to do that again.

I'veMine only has a single O-ring there, so I guess that explains it. Like
said before, one of these winters, I want to take the floats right off
summer.a
full inspection, but hopefully this fix will get me by for another

Walter,
It's the front end cap that now have two small o rings (like the
piston) instead of one... if you buy the whole cap new. This is where
my cyl.
theleaked as the rod moved in and out. I suspect this is why they changed
getreplacementsdesign. I reused the rear end cap o rings because I didn't have
but they worked fine with no leaks.
I suspect it might have been easier to just remove the whole wheel to
ofto
the cyl. and check the bearings/brakes and everything else, for piece
Bothmind, while you have it apart.
I suggest checking the axles for rotation in the c clamp with a mark.
offsandmy axles where rotating even with the bolts/nuts over torqued. I had to
noticeddown the c clamp on a disc sander so it would grab the axle correctly.
