[rebel-builders] Rebel center flaperon bolt and nut

Hi Ken: I have done that two ways. 1/ duck tape over the end of a box wrench
and push the nut in to stick it to the tape ( and turn the bolt until it
picks it up, and 2/ I have even super glued it to my finger to hold it in
position. - this being a bit more painful. Bob J

So just how the devil are you guys getting that castle nut onto the bolt
that is inside the flaperon at the center flaperon hinge???
It would help if the access hole was better positioned or if I could
turn the bolt. I'm seriously thinking of making the acess hole LARGER
as I'm still going to have to tighten the thing and install a cotter pin.

Yep..tape on the box end wrench and do not have the push pull tube hooked up
so you can lift the flaperon sections independently while you work the
wrenches. Bent nose needle nose pliers to put the pin in. Don't be tempted
to use nytrol like I have found in many Rebel flaperons.

Ahhhh of course - twist the darn flap and aileron independantly.
And it just might come down to crazy glue on the finger Bob ;)
BTW the lighter fluid was the only thing that worked on the bit of
plastic that was stuck on the windshield.

The trick to super glueing parts to your finger is to get some glue built up
on your finger first... put a small drop on your finger and smear and let
dry... repeat 3 or 4 times so you have a hard spot where the glue has built
up. Now glue the part on and it will pop off much easier without the
discomfort of being glued directly to your finger. The thick built up layer
of glue will then peel off fairly easy as well.

I do this all the time when working in the tight confines of model aircraft.

How about wrapping a piece of tape around your finger and adding the super
glue to the tape?

Actually just duct taping the nut to my finger seemed to work the best
for me once I arranged to be able to move the aileron and flap section
independantly so I could turn the bolt. :-)
