Taking The Plunge

Gents,

Today, I faxed off the order form for my Rebel Sub Kit #1. I would like to sincerely thank you all for helping me come to this decision.

12 years ago this month I was introduced to the Rebel at Watsonville, CA by the lovely Colleen Dyck. I clearly remember my oafishly large self passing up a Kitfox and an Avid on display as being far too small. Then Colleen asked me to check out the Rebel, and I fit! And it was roomy! And for 12 years, off and on, I have wanted to do this.

So, I am presently filled with a range of emotions - starting with "What have I done?" and ranging from "fear of failure" to "you have to chase this dream" and everything in the middle. If I always listened to my doubts, I would never do anything worthwhile.

I imagine many of you, if not all of you, know these feelings from your own experience.

So, I look forward to learning much about airplanes and myself from this journey. I beg your experienced indulgences in advance for all the questions I will inevitably ask.

Sincerely,
Rich Dodson
Virginia Beach, VA

Rich,
There is nothing in the market place that competes with the Rebel. I concur with the previous comments. Be sure you understand the goal of each step and know when to walk away for while. Remember to enjoy the buuilding - it is not a race.

12 years? Feel lucky, It took me from 1974 till 2005 to "Just do it".I initially
had the itch for a VariEZ, and when I saw the Rebel for the first time at
OshKosh, I knew it was a viable (time wise) project. I have started on the
Rebel (Amphib), and am close to purchasing an EZ ... and I am happy!
I could do twleve years standing on my head.
