Heater box

Hi all,
Is there a preferred location to mount the heat box on the firewall? I have Wayne's firewall plates so I am thinking it will have to go just above them at center? I don't have any cables through the firewall yet so I hope I don't interfere with their final location.
Also, is there some sort of fitting attached to the inside for air flow direction or maybe splitting?
