Engines for sale

Post by Bob Patterson » Fri Feb 17, 2012 5:39 pm

Thanks for the info - these tips can be useful !!

The H2-AD was about the worst engine Lycoming has made lately - they
ALL had problems with the cams, although I hear there are "fixes". One
big problem is that they don't fit the standard Rebel engine mounts
OR the speed cowling .... according to Rob Rayford.

The consolation is that they ARE cheap ! ;-)

Hi Bob,
Just thought I'd pass along a little engine tidbit. I just came acrossed
2 o-320H2ad engine cores. It was also stated they had a "T" designation which
is supposed to be a later model.(I"m not sure about that) They were both
running when remove from aircraft. They have logs but I don't know the
numbers. The A+I that owned them passed away and friends are helping clear
out his hanger. Probably can be bought for around 3000 US. They had all the
accessories still bolted on. Any greater intrest and I'll either put them in
touch with the family or get the info.

Engines for sale

Rebel builders,
I had a O-320H2-AD engine in a '78 Cessna 172. It had the "T" mod and it was
one of the smoothest running engines that I had experienced in an aircraft. If the
engine has the "T" mod a T will be stamped on the data plate. When I sold the
aircraft it had 1960 hours on it with no major problems and it was running at
about 8 hours per quart. There was some correspondence a while ago from a rebel
builder that was installing one in his rebel. Perhaps he is listening and can
offer some advice.
