[rebel-builders] 1800 Amphib Float building pictorial manual

While floats aren't on my present agenda Wayne, due largely to the shortage
of water in this part of the world, I could well be interested in a copy for
possible future reference.

Just a post to see if there is a sufficient number of people that would be
interested in buying a photo library of how to build the 1800 amphibs. I'm
currently well beyond 300 in process pictures, with paper notes/dimensions
or writing directly on the parts in the pictures where required to correct
manual errors or building tips to speed/improve construction (such as the
picture I linked on how to align/square the main gear mechanism a while
back). I figure based on where I am and where I have to get to there will
probably be 500 to 600 pictures by the time this set makes it onto the
airplane. Will also add installation pictures of various installations of
1800's as well.

Just seeing if there is enough interest for such a CD and if so once we
have
an approximate number we can determine if we'll bother and set a price.
Most
likely be done in a slide show presentation so it can be copy
protected....
as we're not going to go to the trouble only to have it boot legged.

Cheers,
Wayne

That's a great idea! I will take one for sure. You should do the same thing
for the airplane. Make the definitive illustrated construction manual. Maybe
make a few bucks for all your knowledge.

[rebel-builders] 1800 Amphib Float building pictorial manual

I hear yah Jean and fully intend to "take a good profit". Wont' be used for
SnF though...towards three kids University bills !

Before too many more throw up their hand and say "me too Wayne" take note
that as I posted it will be for sale...not given away for a couple bucks.
The 13+ years of building experience, and the over a 1/3rd of a million
rivets I've personally pulled, that goes along with the ablity to do the
photo library definitely has a price and for once I'm gonna charge for my
"advise" and pictures. No set amount yet....but I have had it suggested by
people that know the expense of even doing the written manuals that I should
be charging at least a couple hundred dollars for these CD's. Don't think
it'll be that high, but definitely not going to be any cheaper than a GOOD
reference book or it's pointless to proceed on our part (ie: I know how to
build them already...this isn't the first set.... and I don't need a CD!).

Cheers,
Wayne

Hey Wayne,

I have a fantastic idea! Take a good profit on the cd. Put all the
profit out of "shopping hands" for the next year, do not take too much work
for next spring and than you will not have any reasons to not come at the
Sun'Fun!

Absoutely yes without a second thought up to about $100.
Probably well worth a lot more but I might resist at $200...
Then I'd probably get into the manual and realize that "resistance is
futile". ;)
