On my REBEL with the 2.2 I used an EARL'S oil cooler and a 12 volt pancake
fan. The fan you can get at Radio Rip Off I mean Shack for about 15.00 or you
can order one from Northern Hydraulics for $5 or $6. The Earl's oil cooler
you can plumb thru the fire wall with cooper tubing, Just far enough to put
on the shut off valve and fitting for the heater hoses Got a cable controlled
shut off heater valve from NAPA for a NISSAN , heater I think it was for
there old style pick up trucks Maybe as old as DATSON. On my return rad hose
I had to splice two hoses together so I soldered a 3/4 T into the splice for
heat to the (oil cooler - heating core). On the water pump side of the rad I
had a splice to go up to the expansion tank so I soldered in a T to go to the
out put side off the heating core. Made aluminum side plates to hold the fan
and heater core in place together with side tabs put nutserts in the tabs
marked the proper hole location on the pilot side wall just under the engine
mount bracket, drilled and screwed it in place. So it would be removable.
Fire chalked around the cooper thru the fire wall. It's either off or on with
my fan because I'm not sure how to hook up a rheostat for speed control. hope
this helped.
