transponder requirement/ US

Slight correction on this...
A transponder is required also to fly over (not just in) C or B space. I know
because I missed that on my private ticket check ride. Otherwise I didn't
break anything. :) Also, it makes sense -- if they see you on radar,
transponder is your only proof you are not IN their space, or sadly, that you
might be.

Spokane International. most smaller general aviation towered airports,
like the
ones we use, allow flight without an encoding transponder.
