Thanks Rick for the compliments... I think. :-) It's not that I have too much spare time, I just have the right tools, and the know how.

The nitty gritty for viewing pictures on the builders site... log in at http://www.dcsol.com:81 using username "rebel" and password "builder", or your own account if you've set one up. Once on the main page, there will be a blue bar across the top showing from left to right, your system time, "Home Mail Files Chat Users Personal Terminal Logoff". Home is the page you are on once you have logged in, Mail is were the list archives are located, Files is where all the pictures are. Click on files and a new page will load with Maverick, Rebel, Elite, Super Rebel, Floats, and Software. Each of this is a file group that has more specific areas for each aircraft. Clicking on Rebel will expand the list out showing you all the file areas for Rebel. Clicking on Rebel Fuselage for instance will bring up a list of 18 files. Unfortunately, the only place I think I currently have any photos of the door post reinforcement is from the Old FTP site. There is a file area under Rebel called Old FTP site, but there are 121 files in there with no descriptions. You'd just have to start looking and hope you got lucky. Maybe someone will upload some new pictures with descriptions of this MOD. And again I'd ask, that anyone who ventures into the "Old FTP site" and has an appropriate description to add to a photo, please send me a message, I'll update the description, and move it to the appropriate file area.

Mike

Dear Mike (Davis)...

I just tried to access some files / archives regarding the reinforcement of the door post as Wayne suggested....but I couldn't access it !?!....am I THAT dumb, or have I overlooked something ???

(BTW, I went to your "dcsol" site....what a bottler !......you're either a glutton for punishment...or you've got WAY too much spare time on your hands ! :-)

I also went to Wayne's page but couldn't see any pic's regarding the reinforcing plates for the upper door post as he suggested....maybe I'm just a computer nerd :-(

Thanks....keep up the GREAT work on that web page ...it's FABULOUS !

WOW...Thanks Wray !!!

These are exactly what I was looking for !

Looks like ANOTHER "retro fix" ....something I would MUCH RATHER have been
told about WHILE I WAS BUILDING and not 6 months after take-off ! :-(

I'm going to put it to everyone on the Builders page to send in and make an
easily
accessible list of ALL the "known" modifications....(the ones that
"everybody" seems to know about...but don't get passed around to all the new
comers)...

Something that SHOULD / MUST be made available to all builders.....at the
very least to avoid aggravating / avoidably expensive work "down the
track" sometime...(not to mention the safety aspect as well !!!)

SO HOW 'BOUT IT EVERYONE !!!!!

Send in your "known problems / fixes" and lets have a central , EASILY
ACCESSIBLE listing for the REBEL aircraft ...

It's such a shame to see a fabulous plane like the Rebel , detracted from /
made to look inferior by word of mouth / grapevine repair requirements....
:-(

Some say "Oh we thought you knew about those / that problem(s)"....well I
can tell you good folks....WE don't hear NOTHIN' other than word of mouth
or by forums like this one "down here" in OZ !

I think most of the upgrades are covered under the hints or bulletins on
my home page or in the construction area. I'm always happy to add in
any I might have missed.
Rick is there any chance the date on your computer is incorrect? I
keep loosing your posts to the forum back-dated in my inbox. (I usually
leave it sorted by date) This is from your most recent msg Date:

Hi Rick,

I can understand your frustration. It would have been so much easier to have
fixed all these problems while you had the plane in the shop. A list of fixes
sounds like a good idea.

When I bought my rebel project, from another builder almost two years ago, it
had been setting for 6 years. I found the rebel list server and read all the
archives to learn as much about the plane as possible. this is where I
learned of all the fixes and I had to take much of the completed work apart
to apply them.

MAM has a list already, of all their service bulletins, you can download from
the web site. Many of Wayne's fixes are not on this list, however. For all
you new comers, It would be well worth your while to read the archives. Then
bring up your questions on the list server and it will start a whole new
diatribe of comments and contributions that will last for days. It works ever
time!

Wray,

You have a great website for the Rebel builder. I have been there many times
and read your hints and bulletins. How fast we forget. Thanks for your
assistance from all the rest of us. I bet Rick wishes he had seen your site
while he was still building.

Rick, if you haven't seen Wrays site check it out. The list already exists.

Sorry 'bout that chief........I'll get 99 on it right away !!! :-)

Well the best central registry would probably be Mike's site as anyone
can upload pictures and comments. If there's a downside i guess you
might have to dig a bit more to find the info and anyone with info to
add has to take the initiative upload it. (Mikes site makes it pretty
easy)
On the other hand I'll still keep building on my site cause it's fun to
do.
