old rebel upgrades

David, am posting this on our site too for others with old rebels
landing gear, i have die spring gear like Wayne o'shea sells, i think its
the best type for weight cost and simplicity, spring gear Murphy sells is
heavy, expensive and not very good in my opinion,
i would also suggest the Horner tips form Dave fife and leading edge cuffs
from Angus McKenzie,
as for other mods to do here is what i have so far for you, most important a
new manual !!
1- seat backs need to be braced, there are pics on web site
2- fuel tanks if plastic tanks need to be replaced with wet wing kit
3- even if using Wayne's spring gear there are parts needed to upgrade to
1650 lbs
4- brake upgrade from old gold rims to new silver rims
5- new moulded wind shield
6- trail wrap inside tail cone for tail wheel is not used and has been
replaced by several new parts
7- wing upgrade kit to 1650 lbs, a must do
8- some new control horns are available
9- lower/upper corner wraps can be upgrade, (ONTARIO MOD)
10- tail cone can be upgraded to heavier material (ONTARIO MOD)
11- supplied fuel shut off valves are to small & need to be drilled larger
or replaced
12- sheet metal below doors can be upgraded (Ontario mod)
13- fire wall needs to be stainless
14- elevators have new fix from Wayne
15- float fix mod
16- fire wall braces from Wayne
17- lower seat belt bracket mod
18- rear float fitting structural bracing Wayne
19- tail wheel replace with Scott or matco maybe
20- trim tab attach bulletin from Murphy important for safety
regards
mike#007
ps there may be more to come
