tank skin....

Ready to proseal the top tank skin.... Manual do not say a %&%& word about
the leading edge skin! I know I have to put proseal between the main spar
and top skin, logically I should then put proseal between the leading edge
skin and the top skin, cleeco and the put rivets! So after everything will
be done, I will have to try to slip the wing skin under the portion of the
leading edge that is not riveted? Is my sequence ok?

Waithing in the shop the anwers... Thank to all...

That's what I did. I also waxed up some pieces of aluminum and put them
where the wing skin will eventially go to kind of make the space in the
proseal.

Jean...cut a wedge of wood to insert and hold up the leading edge skin just
outboard of the tank.... if you have the leading edge riveted down so much
right now that makes it a tight squeeze to slip the tank skin in. Coat all
the mating tank ribs/rear bulheads and the main spar with proseal and then
just before placing the tank skin coat the front upper edge of the tanks
skin with proseal. Then place it, cleco and then cleco the leading edge skin
down. Be sure to have enough clecos pre-installed in the tank skin before
placing it. This will hold it up off the proseal until you are definitely
lining up the holes. You can also pre-install the cleco's in the leading
edge skin and once the tank skin is place put them in working your way out
to the root of the wing.

Mike
I would think there would be some concern with wax contaminating a proseal
bond for the real skin. I take it this didn't prove to be a problem tho?

I just used automotive wax and put it on like it was a car. There really isn't any residue left behind, just makes it slippery. Also it's not like your penetrating any joint with this, just up to the joint to keep the excess from filling in where the main skin would end up.
