Guys

When I saw this message I just had to smile and post up. I think this group
has a great attitude & it's nice to see the warm invitations to visit. Of
course if anyone is in our neighbourhood......near YHZ in Halifax NS, drop us
a note.

Cheers,

Dave

Nigel,
I would be delighted to have you visit "hangar". Actually, it's a
one-car garage. I would welcome the opportunity to compare notes. You
can contact me off the list server.

Still very much in the planning stage, but thanks for the offer.
Possibly
need to get a car anyway just in case we need to get out and about a
bit
when we're there - and perhaps drop my wife off with some friends in
Lake
Forest on the way North.

If you're that close however I'd (we'd :-)) love to drop in and see
your
project if that's possible ?

Not sure what day we will arrive, but possibly the Thursday, so I'll
be in
touch nearer the time.

Thanks again for the offer

Nigel,
I live about 5 miles from ORD. I prefer to stay in a tent at Camp
Scholler. Camping is "first come, first served, no reservations".
Maybe we could meet and take my car to OSH

Hoping to get to Oshkosh this year with my son for the week and help

with the POP group.

We're planning on getting a hire car to drive from ORD and then camp
and
live on the site. Facilities looked good when we visited for a day
several
years ago.

Not sure about bringing a small tent with us, or just buying one when
we get
there - might be cheaper than excess luggage charge :-)

CU all there

Hi Dale !

Tried 'em all - I think the best experience comes from driving in
and camping on the grounds. Camping under the wing is rough - the
facilities are nowhere near as good as in the campground, and you
are stuck with mostly overpriced junk food. Hotels (book a year or
2 in advance !!) are really stiff - the Super 8 was $189/night, last
time we checked...

If you drive in, you can get a good spot under trees to tent,
with camp store & showers nearby, and run into town for good
restaurants
if you want a change. Also for laundomats ...

There's lots going on at night, or just socialize with neighbours
-
it really adds to the experience. Sun n Fun is even better for
night life !! :-)
