Hi Alvin
Don't know where I ever had the time to go to work! Ya, they look really
good in the pictures and with the price of 1149 US and the dollar the way it
is plus the mufflers, that's the way I'm going to go. I'm also going with
the standard cowl. How did u make the lip around the cowling for the sides
to but up against? I was thinking about making a mould and make it with
fiberglass after cutting of the outside edge off. Didn't want to rivet the
lip to the fiberglass. Thanks for the reply Alvin

Gooday steve:How is the retirement.Just installed my exhaust from Aitcraft
Exhaust Tech.Beautiful looking system.Installed in about 20 minutes.I have
metal cowling,just built it to fit exhaust.

Steve...I did the aluminum strip..shrunk to fit and riveted. Some work, but
not overly tasking and worked well. As for the fiberglass lip idea...I
picked up a NEW Piper style bowl last summer and it has a lip already on it.
I'll go have a better look at it in the morning and take some pictures in
case you are interested.

Hi Wayne and thanks
I used a piper nose on my last plane and worked ok. I have another but it
has the rectangular box in the front for an oil cooler. I like to put my
cooler in the front of the engine in front of # 2 cylinder. The new cowl
that was returned to me from MAM is a much better quality and the edges are
almost perfertly aligned with the fus sides top and bottom. Thought about
flush riveting the strip in but I feel that the paint wouldn't stay long
with the vibration! If you do have some pic's, Wayne, I would love to see
them. Thanks

Pics on there way shortly. It's an MC-3A that is available from
Spruce....that I picked up at a local flyin. It's a bit wider than the MAM
provided nose bowl...which would make it perfect for someone sticking an
O-360 in and trying to stay with no prop spacer. This is the same nose bowl
that Bernie Desantis had on his O-320 case/O-470 angle valved cylindered
engine and it gave lots of work/clearance room.
