snow skiis

I know many of you have skiis on your airplanes. I'm hoping to put skiis on my Elite eventially but don't know what I need. I want to be able to fly mainly onto lakes which probably never have anymore than 1-2' of snow on them. Most of the time there is just some hard pack on them but I would be afraid of hitting a fish hole with a wheel. I want to be able to keep the wheels on at the same time for the blacktop. I have the 8.00 tires and a pnuematic tail wheel. Is a ski put on the tail also? What type of skiis do I need?
Just looking to update my wish list here.

Hi Mike I shamelessly copied the skiis that avid aircraft used to make.
welded steel tubing with 1/2" thick plastic bottoms. I don't have a
tailwheel ski and if you're not going into deep powder snow I don't think
you really need it. Just land on the snowmobile trails ;) Wayne O makes
retractable skiis if you want to go first class.
