Does anyone know why it takes forever to get parts from mam?
I have had parts on order for going on three months!
Nothing that I think would take to long? things like ribs and a servo motor
for the trim tab.
Also John in the hanger next door is waiting for his servo motor and the
flaperon end horns that were never shipped with his kit, we just don't
understand why it takes so long??
Any help out there?

Parts from mam
Parts from mam
Since you are both looking for the same part (MAC trim servo - or what ever
the company name this year) MAM is probably waiting for shipment from them.
I used to have some shipping issues, but none since Nancy took things over.
She's a charm and does her darndest with what's available to her..... in the
way of parts and staff labour.
Have you asked MAM about your order in this 3 month period?
Cheers,
Wayne

Parts from mam
I too have had great support from Nancy in parts. I emailed her the
other day and got an answer within the hour on an order. Give her a
call and simply inquire directly why the parts seem to be on extended
back-order.

Parts from mam
So nice to see all the support for Nancy, allthough the problems that we
have may be with mam ? I think Nancy is in the middle?
I have indeed talked with them several times and it just seems go on and on!
I do know that some things can be purchased from other venders, and will do
so when times arrise.
Does anyone know ? do they stock assorted parts? do they keep them on hand!
Seems like they would be able to ship allmost any part on request!
Thank you.

Parts from mam
Hi Dave !
Hardly any manufacturer of <anything> stocks parts these days -
even the car manufacturers are doing Just In Time parts sourcing !
Murphy usually have a few of their own parts on hand - things
they manufacture - because they build in EOQ's - runs of a quantity
that makes sense from a manufacturing point of view. It's not
sensible to make 20 ribs at a time, if you get say, 30 from a sheet
of aluminum, and you need say, 25 per airplane .... so they make
a quantity that's economically reasonable - and there are usually
a few left for inventory whenever orders are filled.
They do accumulate kit orders, then manufacture to fill those
orders, so you might have a wait for some parts.
Things like the servo motors are purchased from outside suppliers,
who do exactly the same thing - accumulate orders, then manufacture
& ship. The result of this compounded accumulation is the reason
you sometimes can be stuck with a 3 to 6 month wait for the odd
part...... but Murphy will come through ! Just keep in touch
with Nancy often enough to let her know you are waiting, but not
enough to be a nuisance !! ;-) She's doing the best she can.

Parts from mam
Hi David!
Made the same positive experience with Nancy. I messed up some elev
ribs(edge distance!!) and the spars and got the replacments shipped to
Austria/Europe within two weeks.
I know this doesn't help you much, but...
I've seen the trim servo in the ACS Catalog, maybe they have it on stock?
greetings from our snowy mountains
