Hearing protection - dogs

Hi Walter !

I know a fellow who used the headset type hearing muffs for his dog.
He put a scarf over them, & tied it, to hold them on. The dog flew in
the back seat of his Super Cub for years - was very good at finding
his way home ! ;-)

Hi Ken Instead of a curtain on my plane I cut a peice of corplast (sp?) to
fit then covered that with foam. a couple peices of velcro top and bottom
keep it in place most of the time. After my dog decided to push through it
I made a spider web of cord through the stamping holes in the bulkheads
behind it to keep it from falling backwards. I bought a 4x4 sheet at home
depot for about $5 but you could save some money right now by just
stealing
an election sign. ;)

Thanks Bob, never tried tying them on, but that might be worth a try. Our
old dog is a small shitsu, so didn't have small enough muffs either. He
doesn't mind flying now that he is deaf. He just sits on the seat, or on my
wife's lap if she is with me, and looks out the window (I have the lexan
bottoms on my doors).

Hi Walter

You might be able to use the small yellow noise retardant inserts that
simply fit in the ear hole, and then discard after use. I'll send you a load
if you need them...we go through loads every day.

Nig, if you're talking about these little foam type moldable ones, I think
we have those here, too. Not sure how the dog will take to trying to shove
those in his ears, but they should work if they work for humans. Thanks for
the suggestion.

Hearing protection - dogs

G'day Walt ... & others !

Have you heard of that new cross breed of dog that is supposed to be good at EVERYTHING ???

Doesn't yap
Eats very little
Affectionate
Protective
Fetches your shoes for you - without eating them
Fetches the paper for you
If it knows it's a bit smelly - or if it gets any fleas ....... it goes and sits in the bath until you notice & give it a wash
Chases unwanted visitors away - (it KNOWS which ones are the unwanted ones)
Always barks ferociously at your mother in law
Always whimpers at your feet when the wife has her "monthly's " coming
When the phone rings, and it's a telemarketer - it barks once
If a money lending institution is ringing - it barks twice
If Lotto, Lotteries, Pools ring you - it runs around in circles going berserk !
If a debt collector comes to the door - it lays in front of the door (to stop you opening it) & plays dead
Yep .... it does EVERYTHING !!!

It's a cross between a Shih Tzu and a Bull Terrier

and they call it ...........................

wait for it .........................

a "Bull-Shit" ...... :o)

Rick & Wendy Harper
Still kicking down here ! :o)
