Bob is right. The new Cessna Skyhawk has wet wing tanks. It spans three bays
between the front and rear spars. There are stringers running through them.
You can see a picture of the open Cessna tank on www.avweb.com, go into
Reviews and down to "The New Cessna Singles: Who is going to Buy Them".
Cessna use the wet wing in many models and had no problems in 30 years.
(Apparently only Mooney screwed them up).
This is a very interesting article going into many details about the new
Cessna.
Once in a blue moon ($100/hr!!!) I rent the new Skyhawk at the Brampton
Flying Club. It has FIVE fuel drains in each wing, a total of TEN!!! What a
pain! I guess they wanted to make sure to check for water behind all those
stringers and nooks and corners. Each tank holds 28 US Gallons (56 total)
but 1.5 gal. in ea. wing is not useable (53 Gal total useable). Engine is
IO-360-L2A derated to 160 hp @2400 rpm with McCauley 75" prop...makes it
nice and quiet cruising at 2000 rpm.
