Rudder fairleads

I know I already touched this subject. Do I have to go through the rear solid bulkhead, the one the fin is attached to with my rudder cable? And, does anyone have a pic where they may have used pulleys to make the cable bend behind the cabin area? I would like to see how this fits near the mixer assembly on the pilots side.
Thanks,
Mike Betti

I'll get you some shots when I can Mike. Had to put our Lab down today...so
not in the mood for going in the hangar tonight without the patter of 4 feet
to greet me.

Mike, I'll and try and corner one of my boys with his camera this evening
and get some pics for u. I used the round two piece fairleads and had no
trouble getting around the mixer ass.

Rudder fairleads

Mike, on going through these bulkheads, yes you do. I liked somebody's idea
about using a laser pointer and a plastic dummy bulkhead to align the holes,
but I had the permaent bulkhead already in place before I takled this
problem. There's no perfect alignment, beacuse movement of the rudder horn
attach point means that the cable is always going to be dragging sideways on
the most aft fairlead at some point in its travel, unless the holes in the
bulkhead and fuselage side are enormous. I actually wound up placing a
fairlead at the aft end of the slot through the fuselage skin to keep things
aligned. I'd prefer less fairleads as there's quite a bit of drag in the
system, especially with water rudders added.
