Just before I cut my material for the lift struts and because there is so
many surprises in the manuels, is the distance of 66" accurate for a clean
fit or shud I hand fit as I go? Want to try and prepare everything at home
for the upcoming event of renting a hanger to complete the struts and other
things that can only be made with the wings on.

What airplane? In any case, I wouldn't make any cuts for the lift strut
until you have the wings attached at the root and supported in place with
the proper dihedral. I did mine one wing at a time. I supported the wing
with two simple wooden box structures that I simply set on top of my 16 foot
table. I built the boxes so that I could put a small floor jack on the
table and jack one edge of the box up and down to adjust the angle of the
wing. Set your dihedral then start building your lift strut per the manual.

I don't remember what mine were but I would never consider cutting
anything ahead of time to a measurement taken from the manual. If you
really want to cut it ahead of time, I'd cut it in half (on the
specified angle) so that both pieces were as long as possible until you
know for sure.

Ditto to what Ken and Mike have stated. Level the fus, set the wing
dihedral. Attach the lower and upper strut fittings to the fus and wing and
then measure what you need.
