intercoms & radios

If you want an inexpensive comm with a good display, have a look at
the VAL COM - usually about $695 - and for an extra $75, they will
supply the wiring & jacks, completed & ready to mount. Had one,
flew several - worked great, and the display automatically dims
for night flying. Did use a separate intercom - have seen too
many hassles with built-in ones.
You will likely need a line filter for generator/alternator
noise ....

The Icom A-200 has a built in intercom as well. Very poorly documented
and no obvious squelch adjustment. I didn't use it and don't know if it
is VOX or PTT.

thinkI used the softcom on my last plane and it came with everything and Iit's about the same price. Worked great. Just wired my dash on Rebel
#637and used the Garmin SL-40 radio and GTX320A transponder. Thanks
aspecifiedbuddy, I returned my intercom as the Garmin has one built in. Notthein the feature listings in AS&S catalog. Seems to work really well inthegarage! Something else I didn't have to install or pay for. Other thangroundheadset/jack wiring, all it required was another wire to a switch tofromto activate the intercom.
