shipping mooses

We had our Elite kit crated by MAM and shipped to South Carolina. We could not have done the pick up trip for less and with present fuel prices, certainly not now. Two suggestions: save the crate for a shelf under the build table and/or a material storage rack with the addition of a 2x4 frame. Also, if you have to pick up a truck terminal engage the services of a skilled "roll back" car transporter for transport from the terminal to build location.
The kit is heavy and drops are expensive. With a roll back the crate can be lower to the ground at an angle and the truck "jumped" out from under in a series of tiny steps. The truck can then push (skid) the crate into your buils area if there is insufficient headroom initially to drive in.
Enjoy the building process!
