Elite Fin Spar Clearancing

Post by Dave Ricker » Sat Feb 18, 2012 2:23 pm

Another undocumented Murphy feature............

Mike I did this some time ago but according to what I put on my site (http://www.chebucto.ns.ca/~daricker/HTM ... e_Site.htm) you want to leave about .5" of the depth of the channel which is supposed to give you about 25 degrees of travel each
way.

Don't measure in from the edge of the leg of the spar because you'll end up with more travel one way than the other since the legs of the spar are not the same length, at least ours were not.

Hope this is a help,

Dave

Hi group,
I am getting close to putting the rudder on the fin and see I have to notch out the fin spar to clearance the rudder control horn. Does anyone know how much has to be cut out as far as depth goes? Knowing this might prevent me from taking too much off.
Thanks,
Mike Betti
