Hello Brian,
I was talking about portable grinder (much more choice). For bench grinder, the choice is much more limited, but most manufacturer will recommend "green silicon carbide" wheel for non-ferrous metals. It is the same type for carbide tipped tools. Do not choose a very fine grit. Buy a wheel dresser to "clean it" when it stuff. NEVER use it for anything else, the ferrous contamination will "glue" on your aluminium. If your intention is to use the bench grinder for deburring, you should probably go for non-woven deburring wheel from Sait or 3M.

Bonjour Jean,
Thank you for your reply.
What kind of grinding wheel do I need to safely grind aluminum on my bench grinder?
Merci
Brian
