Rebel Bulkhead Pressing
Posted: Sat Feb 18, 2012 1:38 pm
G'day Everyone !
I have a quick question I need to clarify - before I get some parts
from MAM
(because I don't think the person I am talking to understands what I
have asked for)
Background:
I need to get a few of the "R Bulk 1" bulkhead pressings ....
These are the Square edged pressings - used at the bottom edge of the
fuselage - right under where the seats are located.
They are also where the rear, bungee gear attach point is.
(the pressing is square on the outer edged lip & curved on the inner
edge lip)
In my parts list that I have just requested .... I asked for 6 of these
corners
Now - from memory, this bulkhead comes as a single pressing that has 2
corners on it
ie: it makes up a complete bulkhead on the bottom of the fuse - from one
side to the other
On the plan - this is shown as "Bulkhead A"
There are a total of 3 of these pressings used in a Rebel
Two of them are back to back - spaced 1" apart , with a short square
tube between them - this is where ther rear bungee gear leg attaches
The other bulkhead makes up the next, forward bulkhead - just about in
line with the front edge of the seats
The question is :
Does this "R Bulk 1" pressing have 2 edges / corners on it, or 1 ???
I have assumed that this pressing has 2 corners - and asked if the
pressing can be cut in half (for compact shipping) - and stacked one on
top of each other - to save space ... thereby making a STACK of 6
corners
The trouble is - I think MAM is quoting me for 6 PRESSINGS - which will
be 12 corners in all - and at a cost of over $300 !
Can someone please verify what this pressing looks like - it is 7 AM
here & I'd like to ring & clarify this all with MAM - before they shut
down for the day (it should be about 2 PM in Canad by my calc's)
Many Thanks All
