I'm just finishing REBEL kit #460 and I'm looking for some insight on what
kind of thrust in, pounds I should be looking for. Right now I'm pulling
530lb. on a thrust gauge with the prop set up I have. ????

Dave I have an old style Formula Power 2.2 quote 172 HP. at 5000rpm. When I
did my original run up I had the prop set at 14deg. and got 4850 max. rpm.
and 530 lb. of thrust on the scale. I've repitched the prop to 13 deg. I now
get 4960 max. rpm. I haven't had a chance to put the thrust scale back on it
yet. I think I'll try to tweak that other 40 or so rpm out of the prop engine
combo.

"Lycoming" rpm standard. You are getting about right though. Our new
cams are about done so more improvement will be available if all goes
well. Bolt on power so to speak. I'll keep you and the group informed
when I get them on the airplane. While your engine was dyno'd at 172,
you are in the neighborhood of 160 right now.
