Murphy floats/performance

I seem to be averaging about 90 KNOTS on the GPS at 2500RPM when flying at
about 1700lbs, and climb out at this weight is about 600 to 700 fpm at
1000ASL on a 25*C day. This is behind a "slow" cowled (as apposed to "speed"
cowled) Lycoming O-320-C2A x 150HP 3 blade 70" Warp Drive Propellor and
after a 7 to 9 second run to leave the water into a minute breeze.

Cheers,
Wayne

Subject: Murphy floats

I wonder if some of you that have an O-320 on floats (straight or amphib)
could share your indicated airspeeds, rate of climb, and at what RPM's. I
would like to compare with my Subaru.

At gross weight warm day (25C) I am getting around 600-700 FPM climb at
75mph indicated (5200 rpm Prop 2363 rpm approx). I am getting 80-85 mph
at
4500 RPM (Prop 2050). I am on straight Murphy 1800 floats.

Thank you,
