Aircraft Choices...was Rebel /Elite landing gear

I too chose an Elite, just for the extra room and payload, but I agree with
the others...the kit is let down by the manual, and quite a few rivets have
had to be drilled out as a result. As you progress you learn to think well
ahead and use plenty of skin pins to build up a section first - ignoring the
manuals comments to rivet up a section, until you are certain that nothing
else needs to be added later.

There are also quite a few typo's or lack of info on correct part numbers
for bolts/rivets etc.

2 friends building RV's nearby have much better paperwork, but a more
involved aeroplane to put together (jig's, solid rivets, etc)

Moan over though...I'd buy another one tomorrow...all parts (apart from a
couple of small plastic items) seem good quality, and without starting up
the tail wheel argument again, I'm quite happy to stick with the kit as
supplied.

I'm planning on a 160HP engine in mine, and 2 years into the build I'm
finishing off the fuselage up to the firewall, and that will only leave the
wing parts on the shelves.

It would be great to have another one nearby to compare with (there's only 1
other in England), but the Rebel is very similar, and I've taken loads and
loads of photo's of other Elites and Rebels in Canada to help me as a
