drilling out rivets

Best way I've found is to use an automatic (spring loaded) center punch
to knock the mandrel back and the use the same size drill as the hole -
Carefully! With technique, the head only can be removed and in some case
the center punch used to knock out the remaining rivet. Use care here
as you don't wand to dent or deform the aluminum sheets. A small
socket, just larger than the shop head can serve as a backup if
accessible. If not continue careful drilling.
It is helpful to stop early on and confirm you are in the center of the
rivet.
