Tail Wheel and Landing Gear

Bob:

I guess I disagree with you.

MAM advertises that its aircraft can be built by first time builders with
routine shop tools. I can assure you that is not true. In addition, if a
first time build builds this aircraft to the factory standards, the Moose
main landing gear as well as the tail wheel are outright not safe.

MAM has not owned up to major design flaws in the Moose and owners are
paying for in collapse gears (two that I know of so far) and other major
problems (for instance, cracked tails). Daryl knows about these
problems. He does not post the problems or solutions on the site. He
denies their existence saying they were not a problem on the demo even when
I was standing next to the person who fixed the problems on the demo (e.g.
tail wheel angle).

All in all, I feel MAM and Daryl have cheated us all. He told his staff to
"sell the dream, not the product" and now we are dealing with a defective
product. You may think the Moose is a bargain in comparison to other
aircraft but is it safe? Not the way Daryl would have us build it.
