Re tail wheels, gear failure, long messages

I have a Maule tundra tail wheel which cost me 50 bucks from an
aircraft bone yard. I know some of you are groaning and sure Scott is
better if you have the clams to spend, but strength wise it's
definitely overkill. I had the smaller Maule standard tail wheel on my
Maule M4 Rocket and it worked great. Keep in mind the M4 grosses 2300
lbs and they sit with nearly a hundred lbs on the tail to avoid nosing
over. The Rebel is a feather-weight by comparison. I think it will
last forever on the much lighter Rebel and the Tundra wheel is much
stronger than the standard Maule wheel.
Rick, sorry about your bad luck. When you say the trailing link
failed, can you tell us where exactly? Did the pipe itself buckle? At
the bend? Thanks, always looking for weak spots.
Please! That last Rebel digest was 180 pages long! As some of us
have dial-up connections (slightly slower than a string on a tin
can) it would help a lot if people delete at least part of the message
and headers they are responding to instead of re-sending the same thing
over and over. Each response adds to the previous. Also makes it hard
to find the relevant bits, especially in digest mode. Thanks.
