Fuel tubing

I plan to use aluminum fuel tubing throughout my Rebel. What size and type
is best? 1/4 or 3/8 I would guess. ACS has a few different alloys of tubing.
Is the 3003-0 "Versatube" strong enough, or should I use 5052-0, or 6061-0,
0r 6061-T6? Bending for corners will be an issue as well.
Thanks
Jesse

Most common that I know of is 3/8th and the 3003 is plenty strong for fuel
lines, also easier to bend. I have seen them made with all 5052 but I don't
think it is necessary.

FWIW

I would add that I like the 5052 for long straight runs just because it
comes straight and looks nice while the 3003 seems to come rolled.

Hopefully someone else will confirm that - when they all get home from
Oshkosh.

Jesse,

Murphy supplied straight lengths of 5052-0 tubing, of 3/8ths inch OD, for the
fuel lines in my kit. I purchased some 3/8ths inch 3003-0 'Versatube' for the
more complicated runs. The 3003-0 is shipped in a coil from ACS and is much
easier to shape/form. I know of a flying RV at my home airport that the
builder used nothing but 3003-0 for his fuel lines. I think it is a pretty
common practice.

Thanks again Scott and Roger,
Roger, is your Rebel flying yet? I should come up and have a look. I could
waste a lot of your time asking questions.
