The Murphy Builders Site

At least, now, I know why after 12 years of finally getting a link off the
MAM website we (and all the others) have been dumped. Figured after your
"need" to move in Feb MAM would have distanced themselves..... instead of
having you move right in.

I also wouldn't advertise this - " I have a set of 80 gallon wings I am
looking to sell they have wing tips and are just waiting for a name for
final inspection." - on an open forum This is illegal according to even the
current exemption to the regs and our TC boys here in Ontario are spear
heading a "mission" to put an end to the newly allowed professional building
facilites already. Don't give them any extra ammunition. A meeting was held
two weeks ago in Toronto with TC reps from across the country attending two
days of talks on how to shut down facilites that are building aircraft and
parts without a builder of record, or building for people that don't step
foot on the property and just send cheques at the end of each month. Neither
of these situations are considered overseeing the construction of the
part/project and they seem to be on a real tear to put an end to this. Keep
building, but stay quiet before your income gets cut off.

No I am one of the owners of Gator aviation the people who
built the Yellow and Black Moose which graced the cover of private pilot
magazine in May. I needed to relocate my shop in Feb. of this year, so
knowing how often one needs parts from the factory I figured no better
location than Chilliwack. When I came snooping around. Murphy's told me

they

had a twenty five hundred square ft shop space available so I jumped on

it.

We are finishing our first Moose on wheels as we speak. I have not read

the

archives but I can for see problems already. We ended doubling up all

four

corners I will read up on it now. We are still working through the

learning

cure our self's. So far we have one on straight floats The seconds is

going

on Montana which we have just received. So wheels are new challenge.

Hi Kevin, welcome to the list.

When you say "right at the Murphy plant" do you mean in that same
building?
Are you affiliated with MAM then?

You probably haven't searched through the archives but the biggest
complaint
about the Moose right now is the tail wheel stinger and its attachment

and

the main gear. Hopefully MAM will do some work on both someday.

Murphy's have been using us for parts of there RD. I would suspect in

the

near future there will be pictures put out on there web site to answer

of the questions that are arising during the build We build a full

sheet

metal plane fire wall back if anyone is interested. We also sell kits

that

we have done most of the lay out work and pre drilling. I have a set of
