Hi Steve !

It's Rick Abbott's - we did all the test flying & checkout
from Gander International, several years ago. When he had
the 'fire hazard', the engine warnings gave him enough time
to set it down in a pond. I think he replaced the exhaust &
flew it out the following week.

As far as I know, he's still flying happily on Murphy
1800 amphibs - at least 7 years now.

There are many Rebels in Newfoundland. I think
the town of Grand Banks has the highest number of
Rebels per capita in the world !! ;-) :-)
( 7 of them in the town, last count !)

Bob,

Is that really Grand Banks on the Burin peninsula on the south of Nfld
or Grand Falls to the west of Gander? Amazing in both case - just a lot
more amazing if its Grand Banks. : )

Hi Garry !

It's the Town of Grand Bank, settled in 1687, according to
the pin on my Tilley hat ! I got the pin from a Rebel builder from
there that I met at Oshkosh, over a cool beer ! ;-) :-)

The number of Rebels really is amazing, but, as Steve says,
Newfoundland is a perfect home for a Rebel on amphibs - or just
straight floats. (There aren't a lot of grass runways - or any kind of
runways ! ;-) )
