Tailwheel foam filler

To avoid flat tailwheel tires, I recently had my tailwheel filled with
special foam, Rely T-15. When filled it adds 7lbs to the weight. Wheel
itself still bounces when held from several feet up just as high as the
wheel did when filled with air.

Taxi and landing seem normal. With the foam, you can probably run the
wheel until you see foam showing. Here's a link to the company's
product.

Tailwheel foam filler

Hi Ted We use this or something similar at work. You're right that it
absolutely prevents flats usually though it results in a slightly rougher
ride on the equipment we use. You should probably change the tire once the
canvas starts to show though because the foam wears away pretty fast. My
only real concern is that you might get increased wear because the tire
will be slower to spin up when landing from the increased weight.
