North......I am on the 13th and also when the "advise" will come to an end!
..as for being Spam if everyone said congrats to a guys/gals new
completion.....I'm sure everyone is a tad more tolerable than that. What's a
few dozen emails a day for a few days after each completion. I get over 300
spam / day on top of all my real email. Don't see it as a big deal.
..as for a "for profit operation"..dream on..."for justification operation"
maybe. It covers the property taxes and hydro bills around here...and maybe
500 gallons of AV gas per year (and the odd airplane part for maintenance).
I could get serious with a few helpers and probably do close to 7
figures/year on aircraft completions and repairs...but that's not what I'm
in this for!
..wanting to be paid for my advise....I've been giving it for free for over
12 years.....much to the dismay of Darryl Murphy at times... and spent
countless hours on the phone almost nightly before the internet helping
builders that where unsure what to do next. We always joked about a 1-900 #
but it was only a joke..... Unlike guys like Govier that decodes Chrysler
cars. He doesn't get on the phone until his wife takes your credit card #
and then it's $100US/hour. Email replies are $50 for a couple paragraphs. At
those rates for the words/day that I type I'd be living on Belize by now! On
the other hand...do you not think the advise I have given so freely for
years is worth anything?
Cheers,
Wayne

Sounds like you do need to go north <grin>.
I don't think it has anything to with "not giving a rat's ass" or a lack
of
enthusiasm about someone's completion. All of us still working know it
took
a lot of his, and his families, time and dedication to see this through
and
are in awe of his accomplishment (if not a little envious). <grin>
Some of it goes back to the poor subject lines; I didn't recall a first
flight or completion post. I went back and found Alan's email and sent
him
a note offline.
If everyone on the list said congratulation wouldn't it just become spam?
After just so many on list "congrats" a private email may be more
appropriate.
As far as yours Wayne, yes, probably a little less (but only a little)
exciting that it's not a first and that it is a for profit operation. It
almost sounds like you want to be paid for your advice?
I can't imagine anyone not saying a quick "thank you" for a response? A
good percentage of posts get no response at all.
Scott

Thanks Bob! I guess I was just "digging" for a pat on the back....but I
guess most don't really care considering I am doing this full time and
the
only one that is that offers continuous advise...(the rest that are
doing
as
a business are a lot smarter than I and stay out of sight....or should I
say
off the site).
Guess what really erk'd me, previously, was when Alan posted his Elite
was
done and ready to fly...and he got about half a dozen congrats out of
the
hundred(s)?? that are subscribed here and looking for building advise
daily/weekly. I guess their day will come, they'll be ready to fly and
nobody is going to give a rats ass about them either! The other thing
that
gets me is those that ask for advise.... get good, valuable responses
from
the group and can't take three seconds to say Thanks when they're
already
back on-line asking the next question!
God I need to get up North! LOL

Your wrong Wayne, I care and probably most other builders, but are to
busy
trying to build to reply. Jim is right, it really looks great. - Oh
how
I
miss my Rebel. Nice job Wayne: What was the reason for you having
it? -
