I am working at Hill Air Force Base on facilities and get chanced to bounce
my ideas of different folks and came across a suggestion I wanted to share -

I have been using phosphoric acid for an etch and then chromic acid for the
"alodyne" treatment on my parts before I assemble - I was assured that my
miniscule quantities would not create any hazards. One of the environmental
engineers at Hill suggested I look at PreKote - by Pantheon Chemical - Hill
won an environmental award for using it - Their website has some great info
