Just received the following e-mail from Vincent regarding the PT-6 powered
Moose he's working on. I uploaded pictures and documents to the archive
site also.

Mike

Hello Mike,
it has been a long time. About the V8, i'm still working on improving it
until it is to my taste...Being an airline pilot, i will never sell
something wich is not safe... Coming along... But now i have something that
will interest you and many guys for sure.. We never spoke about it because
we wanted to keep it secret until it is ready.. We are pretty much now and
we will be in Oskosh. what would you think about the first Pratt & Whitney
PT-6-20 450 SHP Murphy T-Moose!!!Best known and reliable turbine. we will
offer a firewall forward package including the cowling that fit the Moose...
Talking about 155MPH in cruise ON FLOATS!!! and above 2500fpm climb... The
engine weight only 286 pounds and has 5000 hours to go on condition. Only
for about double the price of a radial MP-14 kit! Cruising at 40 mph faster!
Watch out for an amazing performer! No more problems with vibrations(cracks)
and with the speed gain and price of fuel, the average cost per mile will be
identical! Reversing prop! Our Demo will be for sale and ready to deliver at
the end of show season (october). All of that for half the price of a Turbo
Beaver!!! and full EFIS (blue mountains 3 screens) ,auto-pilot, wipline 4000
amphibs and more!!!

Let me know what you think about that... The price of the firewall forward
package will be 98 500$ (including cowlings and everything you need to bolt
it on and run) The price of our demo will be 495 000$ US.

cheers,
Vincent

Interesting. Not sure about the engine only being "double" the cost of M14
as he is talking more money for just the turbine than my completed airplane
with engine, avionics, floats, etc. cost.

Yah, I thought he could use some work with his math..... but then I started
looking at MAM's firewall forward kit. Engine mount, oil system, air start
system, exhaust system and cowling ...and a quick head add up is about $12K
US plus the cost of a new M14-400HP. Then add a propellor on as well...which
could be $1000 or what's that three blade composite cost. I guess if the new
prop is about $8K he's not far off in his statement.

I wish them good luck with their project.....they will sell a few to a
couple of guys with money burning a hole in their pocket looking for a
novelty to boost the small p^#*$ syndrome... and that will cover their R&D.

Cheers,
Wayne

Your right if you do the MAM "kits" the FWF can add up. I made all my own;
engine mounts, oil tanks, air system, etc. Also kit and engine (360hp)
purchase in 2001, prices have gone up considerably.

I think the new composite props are more in the $12,000 plus range now.

So he is stating fact then. He's selling a FWF kit and comparing it to what
you can buy as FWF kit from MAM. Still a wack of cash!
