Hi Drew

I can't speak for what float operators are using but looking at the Esso
Lubricants &
Specialties Handbook they have two that they recommend around water. I
have used one of
them.

Arcan 1 is described as a white filler grease used "to combat severe water
contamination"
and "has good adhesion under wet conditions' ..." protects metal surfaces
from corrosion
for extended intervals". It is a lithium soap based grease.

Marvelube WR2 is from the automotive chassis and special use group of
greases. It was
recommended to us by Esso on a job I did for use on threaded aluminum
couplings which
would be submerged in salt water for extended periods. Esso recommends it
for water
resistance and gives as application examples underwater dredges and marine
wire ropes.
It is a calcium soap based grease.

We found it seemed to work well and about the only other comment I can
make is that being
black and sticky it was rather messy to work with. It was available off
the shelf.
I would be concerned about using the anti-seize since I don't believe it
is intended as a
lubricant.

Hope this is helpful,

Dave R.

Hi all What are you guys using for waterproof grease on your float pivot
points? I'm considering using locktite silver grade anti-seize but I'd like
to know if theres anything better.
Thanks Drew
