hi all

does anyone out there have parts list for an 0-320 murphy firewall forward
kit, the one i have says 0-235 on it and needless to say as i compared it to
the 0-320 install manual the parts listed dont all match, i might also add
the prices murphy charges for this kit are insane, the major items such as
lord mounts are at least double in us dollars the spruce price

thanx

mike

I ordered the firewall forward kit (0-320) with mine. After pricing their
parts list with what I could identify in catalogs it seemed
like a good idea. That was in 1999 for an Elite with a Murphy Sun N Fun
discount. Now having just about finished the engine
setup I would not do it again. It appears I will have a fair amount of items
that I will not be using. This is either due to
parts not required for my setup or they will not adapt themselves to my
installation i.e.... hoses not long enough, fittings not being the right
size. I suggest except for the motor mount, after deciding what you are
going to do under the cowl you shop around.

Working on Corporate returns Mike, so would be sometime next week (at the
earliest) before I can dig out an old O-320 FWF list for yah, hopefully
someone else can help you out.

BTW, on the conical mounting engine the only rubbers that work properly to
hold the engine out from the mount, otherwise rear intake tubes rub the
mount (worse) if just using the standard rubber ones, are the Lord J6230-1's
with the steel inserts (Believe these are Decathelon rubbers). I recently
bought 4 that I thought I'd just grab for stock and darn near needed a bank
manager to accept delivery. $132.00 EACH from Leavens...AFTER my
discount.......or $528 + Taxes per set!

Manual is written for the Dynafocal mount. Not a big deal. The price of the
J6230's on the other hand is, if that is what they are quoting. Doesn't make
sense to me...sure that's not the price for a steel mount itself!?

Mike:

I have their O320 parts list for the Elite, sent to me by MAM. Probably the
easiest would be if you could give me a fax number. I didn't buy the whole
thing, but picked those items I needed. While you may well have some parts
left over, the kit is far from complete. You've probably noticed that, as
you progress through the building, the quality of the instructions goes
downhill. Well, when you get ahead of the firewall, the downhill path
continues! Of couse, there are so many permutaions ahead of the firewall
that I guess that is to be expected.

In my Elite, I put in an Aerosport Power O360, Airwolf filter, Vans baffles,
a Vans carb air box, Vans bracket to support the cables going to the carb,
Vans spinner and Pasma 2 ignition on the right side, so if you want some
comments on any of these, drop me a line.

Regards, Al

I had look at my list. It is headed "Elite Lycoming 235/320/360 Dyna-focal

Let me know if it's any use to you.

I talked with Stephane from Murphy today and they are SERIOUSLY interested
in keeping the builders happy. If they can't beat a direct price on parts,
unfortuately, all they can do is advise where to buy direct to keep you
happy. It's unfortunate, but if they can't get if for any less than you can
direct they of course have to cover the +'s of shipping /brokerage/handling
etc on the resale. The price on the sheets that Nancy is quoting from
haven't changed in some time and I'm told it was apparently $496US....not
$598 that Mike was quoted. This is still of course higher than you can buy
direct from ACS and you can pay the shipping/credit card mark up/brokerage
etc. yourself if you go this route. My purchase from Leavens in Toronto, to
keep some of our money this side of the imaginary line, was $528cdn+taxes
(after my discount) and that equates to ~$410US. Pretty darn close to
Murphy's quoted list price. Leavens before discount price was $167cdn each x
4 = $668cdn or $513US. IF you walked in off the street to Leavens, without a
commercial account, this is what you would pay.

I guess I'm posting this up because negative posts don't improve our supply
route. The guys/gals at MAM are more than willing to work with you >>IF<<
you give them the chance. The place has turned around significantly in the
last while, lets not beat them "underground" again!

Manual is written for the Dynafocal mount. Not a big deal. The price of
the
J6230's on the other hand is, if that is what they are quoting. Doesn't
make
sense to me...sure that's not the price for a steel mount itself!?

HI WAYNE

ya thats the mounts j6230-1, murphy want 598 usd for 4, highway robbery,
think its auto conversion time for me, i am not paying to finance Murphy
retirement, also noted that the 0-320 install manual does not show to
use
these mounts, so as usual it all screwed up

Working on Corporate returns Mike, so would be sometime next week (at
the
earliest) before I can dig out an old O-320 FWF list for yah, hopefully
someone else can help you out.

BTW, on the conical mounting engine the only rubbers that work properly
to
hold the engine out from the mount, otherwise rear intake tubes rub the
mount (worse) if just using the standard rubber ones, are the Lord
J6230-1's
with the steel inserts (Believe these are Decathelon rubbers). I
recently
bought 4 that I thought I'd just grab for stock and darn near needed a
bank
manager to accept delivery. $132.00 EACH from Leavens...AFTER my
discount.......or $528 + Taxes per set!

hi all

does anyone out there have parts list for an 0-320 murphy firewall
forward
kit, the one i have says 0-235 on it and needless to say as i compared
it
to
the 0-320 install manual the parts listed dont all match, i might also
add
the prices murphy charges for this kit are insane, the major items
such
as
lord mounts are at least double in us dollars the spruce price

thanx

Mike:

I have their O320 parts list for the Elite, sent to me by MAM. Probably
the
easiest would be if you could give me a fax number. I didn't buy the
whole
thing, but picked those items I needed. While you may well have some
parts
left over, the kit is far from complete. You've probably noticed that, as
you progress through the building, the quality of the instructions goes
downhill. Well, when you get ahead of the firewall, the downhill path
continues! Of couse, there are so many permutaions ahead of the firewall
that I guess that is to be expected.

In my Elite, I put in an Aerosport Power O360, Airwolf filter, Vans
baffles,
a Vans carb air box, Vans bracket to support the cables going to the carb,
Vans spinner and Pasma 2 ignition on the right side, so if you want some
comments on any of these, drop me a line.

Regards, Al
