Mike if you buy from Leavens take the spin on filter. It won't fit on your
airplane with it in place and you will have to replace with a screen bulb,
remote filter or the B&c 90 degree adapter....but you can sell the filter
adapter on ebay to return some of the output.

For those who choose the B&C right angle oil filter adapter to avoid
more connections = more leaks the 1 1/4" spacer was also required to
clear the MAM supplied mount for O-360 on our Elite. This was passed on
to B&C as well.

Still too long. Don't think it would even fit (without hitting the firewall)
if already on the engine when placing the motor on the mounts. Definitely
not room to thread it off the adapter's thread once the engine is in
place..... unless you cut yourself a hole thru the firewall and pulled it
from inside.

I remember reading in one of the Bingelis books about cutting a hole in the
firewall and rivetting a stainless steel pot in place to allow clearance
for the oil filter. I believe the instalation was on an RV6.

The archives mention B&C 90* adaptors for rebels with O-320 engines to
avoid interference from the firewall. These are p/n 08-00196 in the ACS
catalog and priced at $385US.
The Lycoming adaptor p/n 08-00977 is priced at $272.80. Listed on the
same page as the B&C.
Other adaptor kits seem incredibly expensive to me. I must be missing
something.
Will both work and do the same job? What am I missing here?
In use, do these filters more or less self drain so there is no great
mess?
